NeuroCOV Researcher Flavio Passante Part of Winning Team at 2025 REMEDi4ALL Hackathon
Flavio Passante, researcher at Human Technopole and member of the NeuroCOV consortium, took part in the 2nd edition of the REMEDi4ALL Hackathon, held in Barcelona from 6 to 10 October 2025. The event gathered 14 early-career researchers from 10 countries to address real-world challenges in drug repurposing for rare neurodevelopmental disorders, including CDKL5 deficiency disorder, PACS2 syndrome and Dravet syndrome.
Flavio was part of the PACS2 syndrome team, which worked throughout the week to identify potential repurposing candidates, develop a Target Product Profile (TPP), and outline a Repurposing Development Plan (RDP). The group also met with caregivers of affected patients, underlining the importance of focusing on unmet patient needs alongside scientific and medical goals.
At the final presentations, the PACS2 team was selected as the winner of the Hackathon.
Congratulations to Flavio and all members of the winning team!
